New games are always releasing, and series are always continuing onto the next part. With this in mind, it makes sense for games that haven’t been relapsed yet or aren’t even close to completion to be announced to create excitement and hype around certain titles. Since I have already covered the current popular games on the market it only makes sense to now cover the popular upcoming games available on each console as well. Some of these games may be exclusive to a certain console or available on all. I will make a note of availability and rating for each game covered here today. With that being said get ready and let’s dive into the upcoming games for each console.
I will be starting off by covering the upcoming games for the PlayStation 5. The first game I will cover is Horizon Forbidden West. Horizon Forbidden West is the direct sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn which was released in 2017. Horizon Zero Dawn was a PlayStation exclusive game it and looks like Forbidden West will follow in the footsteps of its predecessor in that regard. Horizon Forbidden West will be rated T for teens for the following reasons: Blood, Language, Use of Alcohol, and Violence. Horizon Forbidden West is an open-world action RPG that takes place in the future where ravenous machine-like monsters roam the earth. Horizon Forbidden West is projected to release on February 18, 2022, with multiple editions available for purchase. The next big game that is upcoming for the PlayStation 5 is the next entry in the God of War series God of War: Ragnarök. God of War: Ragnarök is the sequel to the game God of War that was released for the PlayStation 4 back in April of 2018. Not much has been released yet about God of War: Ragnarök however we do know it will be released sometime in 2022 and judging by the previous games in the series we can guess that it will be rated M for mature. The final game I wanted to cover for the PlayStation 5 is one not from a well-known developer but from the indie studio BlueTwelve Studios. The description on playstation.com reads “Stray is a third-person cat adventure game set amidst the detailed neon-lit alleys of a decaying cybercity and the murky environments of its seedy underbelly. See the world through the eyes of a stray and interact with the environment in playful ways.” This game is going to be different from most on the system but it is one I am personally looking forward to.
Next, I will be covering some of the upcoming games for The Xbox series X and series S. The first game I will be covering is Halo Infinite. This game has already been partly covered in the article I wrote on popular games for the Xbox which you can find here. The reason for this is that the multiplayer for halo infinite has already been released for free on both Xbox consoles and PC. However, the campaign is a different story the campaign will be releasing for the same platforms on December 8, 2021. Unlike with PlayStation exclusive games, this availability on PC allows even more people to experience the game and what it has to offer. Halo infinite will be rated T for teens upon release. The second Xbox exclusive game I want to cover is State of decay 3. State of Decay is a third-person zombie survival horror game that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. State of decay is like most other horror survival games causing the payer to scavenge and explore to be able to fight off and survive the zombie plague. Unfoutrionately, we do not have a release date as of yet but based on the previous games it will most likely be an M-rated game.
The third and final console I will be covering is games for the Nintendo switch. The first game I will be covering is not only available on the switch but also the PlayStation 4, 5, Xbox one, series X, and series S. This game is the Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga. This game takes every other Lego Star Wars game and combines it into one open-world game with updated graphics and new combat systems. Lucas films and TT games have completely redesigned both the lightsaber and the blaster combat system allowing for an all-new feel to lightsabers and even a cover system for blaster characters. This game doesn’t have a rating yet but we can assume it will be rated E or E10+. Lego Star Wars Skywalker Saga is predicted to release in the spring of 2022 and has been long-awaited.
